After dinner on Thanksgiving the kids love to play around on Uncle Steve's golf cart. he took them on a quick ride around then it was my turn to take them out. I let Marshall and Macy take turns driving around. Then they took me on a wild goose chase around the complex. Kyle had fun playing like he was falling off the back (we were stopped when I took the picture), and if you look close at Macy's braces she looks like she is saving some sweet potatoes for later:)

Boys running around with cars and wielding swords, the smell of cookies and marvelous gourmet food, hearing revving truck engines and mad barking dogs and you know that you are at my friends the Turner's.
We did a "Speed Shoot" at there house and it was rough but we got a few good shots.
I got a great meal afterwards...it was worth every shot!

I love this family. They are fun, loving, generous and are always willing to bring anyone into their family. I always look forward to taking their picture. We had fun at their grandma's antique shop, Charms on Leffingwell. A great place to explore and find wonderful antiques. Dad Mike is a good sport while we played around and made him "The Dunce" in the little school chairs on the front porch.

So, Macy was invited to a costume party by her friend, Aaliya. The invitation was hand wrote on an index card. Macy told me she lived on the island and I was just to "look for the signs" to get to her house. So I called the phone listed and spoke with her mom to get a better idea of where they lived. The island bridge is out so we had to drive the very long way to get to the island so I wanted to have a very good idea of where the party was. So, we worked very hard on her Mad doctor look. We spent about 45 minutes on the hair. Used a full can of hair color, and a bunch of makeup. I took countless pictures to the point of photographic frustration on the part of the model. Then off we went. The traffic was horrible on the way out. It took forever. We finally found the road and set off to find the "signs". They didn't exist. So we checked for the house number on the invitation...it wasn't there. I called the Mom's phone number and got no answer. we drove up and down the road for 15 minutes. I called and called. Macy was getting sadder and sadder as we drove up and down. I tried calling one last time before turning tail and finally got an answer. I was glad to hear her voice. I explained the invitation snafu, and told her of our countless times up and down the road and then pleaded to her to tell me their house number.

Then it came...She said in a saddened voice...
"I am sorry but the party is TOMORROW"

Needless to say we all felt, stupid, humiliated, tired and my car had a lot less gas in it.
So we tried it all over again on Sunday. Macy looked great on both days. She had a great time and we both learned a real good lesson.

well I introduced my nephew Tommy to my new i-phone. It was like putting a fish in water! I really didnt even need to show him much. He picked it up very fast. Before I knew it, he had killed my score bowling. He even showed his Grandma nancy how to play. I did ask him if he loved me for my phone or did he love me because I was Aunt Janet, he stopped playing, looked at me and in his little cute voice said "I love you because your Aunt Janet"

I went to my nephew Michaels last football game this saturday. One of the team members was unable to be at practise the day they got their team photo taken. Michael Shoemaker is a great kid. It was my honor to take his picture. It will allow him many great memories of running the field, tackling the other team and getting great treats to eat after the game.

It's been so long...

Well David Cook just won American Idol...YEAH! Once I was over the initial shock that David A. didnt win like predicted (thankfully) I thought...why not blog.

I know its been a long, long, long time since I have posted a picture, you probably thought I had given up. Nope...just darn busy! I have taken hundred...thousands of fabulous pictures. So many that I had to move all of them off my computer to a hard drive. So the photos below are a few from January on.

I am happy to report that I have been published 3 times. Oddly enough, they are in truck magazines. Yes, you heard me, truck magazines (oh and one scrapbook idea book). I was published in the Rovers North catalog, twice. Thanks to Sam Costello and to Tami Sutherland for allowing me to hyjack their images to print. Also I was published two months in a row with the Global Magazine "Land Rover Monthly." First with a two page spread consisting of two solid pages of pictures with text on top, then 4 full page spreads the next month. Go to www.floridalandroverclub.com to see them. I was also published for my photography and scrapbooking with a photo of Sam in "601 Scrapbooking layouts" in a Memory Makers idea book. Thanks again Sam!

Olivia has a rare disease called DeGeorges syndrome and had Trunctus Irticulitous at birth with an open heart surgery at 4 weeks. She is two now and is stuggling with her weight. She currently stands at almost 19 lbs. She's a trooper! Keep her in your prayers for continued good health and weight gain, and for her patient...wonderful parents!

It was an early morning at Waterlefe for the Joe, Josie, Andrew and Lance. It was a bit chilly at first but warmed up just a bit. This family is growing so quickly and Andrew is always on the move. But in the end my grouchy pirate face (I am sure I looked beautiful making that face) made him smile perfectly. But little Lance was a bit under-the-weather and was an unhappy "little elf". The Blackrick family was all in one state again with a new addition, Micah. We all net at Manatee county's historical park downtown for a family photo shoot. It was BLISTERINGLY humid. I spent the morning in East Bradenton with this lovely family. Josie is pregnant with her second son. Andrew, her first, was there for some fun pictures with mom. At first he wasn't very interested...as most men aren't... but once he broke out the Mr. potato head magnets, he was more than willing to add a smile to mom's tummy...a little Picasso action on it too!

I visited the Thomas family early this am to visit with Jack for our second meeting. He was as cute a a button up fresh and early. My camera on the other hand was not. It died unexpectedly for an unknown reason, so I had to cut out visit way too short.
I promise Jack, third time is the charm.
But we did get some cute shots before my equipment malfunction, and here they are.
Next visit will prove even better and hopefully there will be big smiles and much fun.
...now I am off to the camera shop for a little diagnostics...

I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely couple on their recent trip to Florida. They are both Detectives with the Virginia Beach Police Department. They wanted to celebrate their time as expectant parents with these photos. I just love the way they came out.

Sweet, caring and beautiful.

Jessica's pregnancy is going well other than her recent trip to the hospital with appendicitis. Only 3 weeks prior to these photos, she had her appendix removed. Baby and Mom are doing just fine. We artfully did our best to cover the rather large scar that has been left behind.
Best of luck to them all in the future. I look forward to meeting their Baby Boy in November for His photo shoot!

As some of you know I have a full time...real job...not the one i would really like to be spending all my time at though. I once had an employee friend named Vanessa. She is one of the most intelligent young lady I have ever met. Beautiful, smart, hard working, ethical, and all round girl next door. Well she's been officially snatched from the pond by the boy next door:)

Jess, her lucky man is a perfect match for her and I wish them both all the luck in the world. The lucky date is next year in June, I think the 18Th... I will be attending, so I helped out their process by gifting them their engagement shots. I'd have to say, they look perfect together.

Taking a well needed break! Steve and Melvin came all the way down from the great white north (New York) just to warm up, have fun and drink some ice cold beer from Rich's cooler:)

We found this tag along on the tow strap on the back of the Rover. He ended up traveling around 5 miles with us!

You never visit Florida without a dip in the pool. Well at least in the summer! I wasnt there for the initial jump into the pool, but I heard some awful screaming when Max jumped in! It was unbearably cold, but they stayed in and had a blast. As you can see the boys will always be boys! And the water fight looks very familiar. I think I may have some pictures of Hannah and Marshall doing the same thing about 5-6 years ago...in the same pool!

Someone had this relly cool skateboard type of a thing. It has a wide handle and you sit on it and FLY!!! Marshall had a blast on it. Anyone know where to buy one?

Funn at the Hummer pit for the Poelsma's and the Watson's. Even Hannah got to partake in the driving!

Dinner was Boston Butt Slow cooked all day. It was FABULOUS! Thanks to Dale, Carol, Harry, and Robb. Then everyone else pitched in for one great feast!

Dennis and Thomas on the swing. I am a sucker for feet shots. I am not a fan of feet, but love to see how cute they are in pictures. And we always LOVE baby feet, so I like the relationship of an adult pair and a child's pair. It reminds us that they are still small, soft and touchable. Wallaby Ranch, Rover Round Up

Well, the following posts with Rover Round up titles were taken in February of this years Palomino Rover Round Up. In other terms, a big camp out for Land Rover owners and friends ran by Rico Palomino and his wife. I had never been before and we had just bought a camper so sounded like nice, warm, fun. Boy was I wrong! It was great cold fun!!! It took place at a hang gliding facility near Orlando called Wallaby Ranch. So, will we were driving the Rovers around on their trails, they were hang gliding above us. Hang gliding in Florida you ask??? They are flown up by ultra light airplanes and set loose the glide back down. The ride lasts about 15 minutes for about $100. We may go back for that another time. But we had loads of fun freezing our tires off and having fun "bumpy riding" as my kids like to call it.

Here is one of my favorite clients...well this whole post is a family full of my favorite clients/friends.
This is Thatcher. He turned one just a few short days after this picture. He is happy, healthy, and loves to watch the trucks. Watch out guys, you need to have a truck fund for this little guy!
This is Jasper, Thatchers big brother. He already knows a lot about trucks. He'll be able to teach him a lot.

Wow, talk about being in the right place at the right time. Now, I just think this is a darn cute shot. Sam looks so innocent and sweet, and she is. But, Show this picture to a Rover fan and they think its out of this world! I have heard "This should be a poster for Land Rover"!
For you non-Rover types...this shot shows a Land Rover Discovery, then a Range Rover, Then a series truck. What more would you need in a Rover photo...nothing.
And Samantha again...She's my new favorite girly model. By the way, shes not posing, shes just being herself and I got to witness this beauty!
And then there's my "happy ice cubes". Boy were we all cold! But these too were toasty, warm and happy. Thanks Diana and Thatcher!

On Saturday morning frost was everywhere! Here is Macy with the frost from one of the camp chairs left outside on her finger. I told her if she scrapped all the frost up, she might make a small snow ball. She laughed...it was too cold.

This is Tori. She is 11 years old. She was having fun playing with all the kids who would through the ball for her whenever she wanted them too.
I caught a glimpse of an Ultra Light airplane from the ranch and my lens cap was on. By the time i was ready to shoot, it was headed behind trees. This is what I caught. I love the light illuminating from underneath the plane.

Well these were taken at the end of our stay at the wallaby Ranch. The kids wanted some cute fun pictures on the play ground. They loved to spin and Dad got us going pretty fast! And Tori had a ball... chasing balls in the huge fields there.

Well it was fitting to take my favorite lifetime client Jonathan's 2 year old pictures on his grandfathers billiards table. Sharon his Grandma, or "Ma" to Jonathan, told me he loves to play on the table with the balls. Hence, Photo session and pool game. "Ma" even made his birthday cake a pool table with the blue number "2" ball on it. So here are a few examples of Jonathans 2 year old photo shoot.

Well we attempted Christmas cookies today. What a mess! Check out the last picture in this post to see what cleaned the floor! Needless to say, the kids had fun and I got a lot of stress added to me during this fun pastime. Marshall took decorating very seriously and Macy and Micayla just took forever to make the few cookies they did. Their dough was like rocks when they were done. They will have to learn to lay off the flour next year. So if you get a rather "hard" cookie, it was theirs.

Morning rain hit today. Hopefully bringing some cooler weather, but my A.C. is still on...

Although I love my M's, My third favorite "M" came to visit today. Miss Morgan the big 1 year old. It's hard to believe that "full of rolls" baby I posted way back in, um I think April, is this standing, walking, brown eyed beauty! Happy Birthday Morgan.
Meet Rico. He's Ed's Christmas present. He is doing well and that's a huge compliment coming from a dog hater like me. He just needs to learn his place in this house and leave my babies alone! I miss my kitties. Some wont even come in to visit. But they are less afraid of him every day.

Well I drug Macy up to her school to take some "bright like her" pictures. I love the color of the walls there. I will do some others once I can get into the courtyard. They have sage poles with these red walls and green, green grass, But just cement and wall for these pictures.

Well, Ed, Chuck, Chayet and Mike rode in a Dirty Triathalon Sunday AM. I was brought along as team "Bikin Mofos" staff photographer. It was Chayet and Mikes first tri. I am happy to say they both finished! Ed and Chuck did well finishinhg with the top 10-15 people. Not bad for teoold guys...LOL... Here are a few pics and some fun in the rain shots too!

I am photographing a friends cat this afternoon that will be going to the great mouse hunt in the sky tommorrow. I understand very little since the cats human is very upset. I hope all will go well when I am there and the human will feel better about making their cat happier, and it will soon be out of pain.
So in preperation for this, I shot a few of my favorite felines. Heres Hahn and his Mom Jordan. Hahn is a red or flame point siamese, and Jordan is a speckled point siamese.

Mom's Birthday

Well its my Moms birthday. My Baby bro Steve invited the family out for a quickie party. It was wonderful. Everyone was in good spirits, the food was fabulous (Steve and cylantro there is no better combo), and the pool was Ready To Play!
I would have to say that Thomas took full advantage of the water and fun! He must have jumped at least a hundred times. Michael, although timid at first, was ALL IN at the end. Kyle took the helm as most experienced swimmer and is even rivaling his Dad on crazy jumps into the pool. My kids, when not arguing with each other, enjoyed the antic's around them. All in all Mom had a fun party and seamed to enjoy herself. Dad even got in for his once every 10 year swim...

Well, It's been a busy few weeks. I have been getting into my groove in my new position at work. I LOVE IT! The guy I work with is great, there is so little stress, and I get to wear jeans. What else can you ask for?

Well, not much buisness latley but I did shoot a 1 year olds birthday party (catered, band, photographer...$$$) and was asked to do a quicky photo shoot, in my favorite brick room, with a 3 year old........ well he was cute but slightly, well, 3 year old. I didnt hold much hope with a party going on around us.
Boy was I wrong. He's a natural! He posed, sat still, did what I wanted, he should model! Nuff said. Heres Joesph:

Well, I promised pictures if I went. It wasnt spectacular like it has been the past few nights. Thats always the way it goes for me. I watch them from the house and they are phenominal and I go spend 2 hours at the beach (which I detest) and they are, eh. But the kids had a whopper of atime and that was whorth it alone! Macy even commented on how much fun they had playing.

For doing just about nothing this week at work, I had a very stressful week!!!

Yah, I know that doesn't sound right. I really had a few things to do, and I finally got my computer. It doesn't work right though. They have been trying to figure out what the problem is and just cant quite get it. And talking to people over the phone about what your computer is and isn't doing is frustrating in itself! They always wonder if you are really doing what you are saying you are... Go figure.

Then I had my first review and quarterly advertising meeting. I thought my review was going to SUCK! But she scored me all 1's. That's perfect??? We did both agree that since I still haven't got to do my full job that I will have to improve that point. AND, I got a raise??? One I didn't think I would get, and bigger than I thought???? Also the meeting was eye opening. I never thought they thought so much about color, placement, fonts you know, just like scrapbooking. I enjoyed the meeting. Others thought it was a waist of time. To me it was something to do!

So I slept in today and really have nothing planned. I think I may go out and watch the sun set tonight. It has been looking fabulous the past few nights here at the house. But, I just got a call from Jill and might meet up with the girls around 7:00 for dinner. So, I might go there or see abeautiful sunset, if it is wonderful I will be posting a picture later on tonight.

My mother always says, "your just like your Grandmother". Funny, since she was not the artist or photographer. She must have gotten it from being around it. Anyways... She always ran around and took pictures of flowers, trees, leaves, anything she found beautiful. SOmetimes I feel these things call me. And strangly, I listen. I have never been one to go search out beautiful, oddly beautiful, things. But I find them, convieniently when I have camera in hand.
So I was getting ready to shoot a newly engaged couples picture when a near by pond called to me. Checking it out closer I found these, you decide if they were the ones doing the calling...

Well another year has gone by and so has another Florida Law Enforcement and fire games has also.
Ed compeeted in 6 events. They are as follows:
1. Mountain biking....Gold medal
2. Criterium race.......Bronze medal
3. 1000 meter sprint..........
4. 40 mile road race....4th place
5. 10 mile time trial.....4th place
~ overall biking ~.........silver medal
6. Triathalon.................silver medal

Ed, we are all very proud of your acheivement! You did a great job. Extra "Hurrays" go out to you for missing your gold medal ceremony because you went back to the course to help another biker, Felix, accomplish his goal of finishing. You really helped him a lot and were a great example to all.

Well, I was rushing home on Thursday to load my camera from a photo shoot I had just finished when my car came to a screaching hault.

There in front of the Richardsons house where the most amazing things. Now, you have to understand the Richardsons yard to appreciate this. Its nothing special, pretty funny actually. Mr Richadron takes the first foot of his yard at the curb and turns it into a garden of sorts. Not really much to look at and seems like a pretty funny spot to have one. But everyone that passes by it waits in antisipation to see what he will do next... Their have been peppers, tomatoes, squash, generic flowers, he even had corn once...but I LOVE when he plants his sunflowers! They are amazing! And as I passed they called to me knowing the camera was close by. They were right they needed to have their image imortalized!

A challenge was posed, and I think I have taken it a little too seriously!

"Take a self portrait". Thats all I needed to do. But for three days I have found myself eagerly behind my lens, and enjoying it! Its an odd thing when you dont have many pictures of yourself, but spend way too much time behind a camera.
So step out and shoot yourself, you learn a few things and you get to see some

pictures of yourself...

Well, these are ok. They look like the more everyday Janet.

I really like the black and whites. It helps hide all the color differences in the face. its also more sultry and mysterious.
And the Nature Janet. She has bad allergies, and loves to be outside. I am even getting used to the very hot temps here in Florida. But my sinuses just wont let me spend too much time...
